Why it began

I had long felt a sense of discomfort with plastic lures that carry no sense of life.

The memories of fishing and travel, the time spent in those places, and the irreplaceable moments that matter deeply to anglers felt hollow when engraved into an inorganic material.

The marks left through encounters with fish. The satisfying scars, the frustrating ones, bite marks, cracks, peeling paint. These traces are able to accumulate over time precisely because the lure is made of wood.

Skygrey was born from the hope that anglers would spend the time of their lives alongside Skygrey wooden lures, allowing both to age together.

Not products made for mass production or mass consumption, but tools that can be kept and used continuously, even when covered in scars.

I wanted to create gear that preserves the memories of fish and travel exactly as they are.

So that more anglers can leave their own memories behind in the lures they use.
